You People

A near-miss. A topical talky Rom-Com in the vain of Woody Allen but without the ultra-witty dialogue. A few laughs can be had but I couldn't help feeling this movie got a little preachy in its attempt to examine race relations and clashing cultures. I do like Johan Hill quite a bit so if you do to, please go right ahead. JLD looks really old here, she still looked great during VEEP, but it appears she has aged quickly.

The Sea Beast

Gorgeous Animation and an Oscar nod are what drew me to this one. (I try and see everything that's nominated for an Oscar and usually succeed). This is a fine and enjoyable film, but it's essentially "How to Train your Dragon" except replace dragon with sea serpent. For this fact alone this shouldn't and won't win an Oscar, doesn't mean you won't like this one, you're just not going to get a lot of originality and if HTTYD is your thing, by all means proceed

All Quiet on the Western Front

A fine film with tremendous production values and it was nominated for a ton of oscars, some of which will be deserved, but this is overlong and, quite frankly, a bit boring...trim off 45 minutes please and get back to me later.

Poker Face

I did get around to watching the first four and it is a lot of fun, just a good ol' fashioned detective series. Each episode a different mystery with one overall story arc, cleverly done though with some great guest stars. Enjoyable

 Glass Onion

Not Bad, I did like it more than the first. I did find Daniel Craig's drawl a little forced, don't get me wrong he's a fine actor, just maybe don't cast a British actor as a southerner or find one who is more proficient with the accent.

13 Minutes

13 minutes? 13 seconds is about as much time as yiu should devote to this turd.

The Playlist

Wow this was great. A Swedish series about the startup of Spotify. This joins an increasingly growing list of tech biopics, most of which seems to be very well done. This is no exception. Each episode of the series is told from a different team members' perspective. i.e. The Coder, The Lawyer, The Vision, etc....extremely well done and if tech bio pics interest you, this is a cant miss.

How to Sell Drugs Online Fast

True story of a German teen who in order to win the girl decides to become a drug dealer using the dark web and his business explodes causing all kinds of difficulties. This is fantastic, don't be put off because its in German, still a great story. Well acted and written this is surely worth your time.

Amsterdam

I mean I haven't seen a list of stars/costars like this in years...An amazing cast is about the only thing that really stands out in this film that could have used a better script. I mean this isn't a horrible film by any means is just decidedly average and even a top-notch director and cast cant save mediocre material. Only if your bored or if you're like me, you want to see everything Anya Taylor-Joy has ever done

Pieces of Her

This one fell through the cracks for me, it's not without fault, but Toni Collette isn't one of them. Worth it

The Menu

No thanks. This was nonsensical to the point of disbelief... I guess it must have been pretty easy for Fiennes to find a staff of 20 suicidal chefs?!? Seriously? I did realize just how much I love Anya Taylor-Joy, she is going to be a mega star and deservedly so.

 Jurrasic World: Dominion

A pure money grab, not even the great Chris Pratt can save this one. Apparently, now dinosaurs and humans share the planet? WTF as if? A turd of a movie which sees pretty much every single action sequence and tense moment are a regurgitation of another Jurassic park action sequence or tense moment....write a better script or put this series to rest

Kaleidoscope

Really good, although its nothing more than a typical heist film/series along the lines of ocean's eleven, it's well done and worth your time. It should be noted that the series was designed so the episodes can be watched in any order which is kinda' unique and slightly cool. Great cast of B-list actors including Giancarlo Esposito AKA Gus Fring from Breaking Bad and BCSaul

Your Honor

A really good show. Well acted by all and love just about everything Hope Davis does, she's magnificent. One very large creative mistake though, the show takes place in NOLA and NONE of the characters have a creole accent or even a little drawl, I mean throw a few people in who speak with a Cajun accent and the city is in no way part of this show, it could very easily have been Chicago, Detroit or any other place, why set a show in NOLA and not feature anything about that city?

Everything Everywhere all at Once

An extremely interesting film to be sure, the Multiverse is on full display here and if you can get by that aspect of it, you're in for a heckuva' ride. Highly recommended.
