Maestro

Good and Bad...A 6.8 IMDB rating is about right. It's far too long and at times not very interesting, but there are also some outstanding moments, the last 45 minutes are strong. The two leads Cooper and Mulligan are both terrific, but this is a near miss.

The two leads are both terrific, but this is a near miss for me. I consider a 7 on IMDB is worth watching in most cases so this one is right on the border. If this material interests you take the plunge, if not move along.

Saltburn

WTF is this? Tries very hard to be something an artsy, erotic and sophisticated. All kinds of homosexual undertones are a complete turnoff in this case. Goes for shock value and come off disgusting. Lead actor Slurps the bathwater out of a tub that was just masturbated in and then eats out the guys sister when she is on her period just revealing in the blood??? Does this sound like a good time? AVOID THIS POS. NOT WORTH ONE SECOND OF YOUR TIME

Rebel Moon: Part One A Child of Fire

Fell asleep after about 10 minutes, which should speak volumes. Everything I saw in those 10 minutes was awful even though Sci-fi is my jam. Perhaps something happens later in the movie to save it, but this is one piece of crap film. A good cast wasted. Zach Synder is he is a good director? He certainly gets way more love then he deserves. I mean a couple good superhero movies is nice but you are already working with material we know the public will love. Now he created something original and he spews out this overpriced POS, to me, this fact alone tells you Zach Synder is a hack

The Long Shadow

Fantastic. A true crime story that most Americans will have no knowledge of whatsoever. The Yorkshire Ripper who was active in the 1970's near Leeds and Manchester England. This series plays out like Zodiac. and one can get some insight into how difficult it was without technology to track serial killers. HEAVY cockney accents may be a problem as is the fact that this airs on ITV, a British streaming service. If you have the resources to view this... don't hesitate

Obliterated

Nothing great, but it's hard not to enjoy this one since it doesn't take itself all that seriously and provides a few laughs along the way. It's kinda' like the Hangover crossed with any one of a dozen special ops movie, Surprisingly, the blend works and gets better as it goes along. Worth a lookie look

A Murder at the End of the World

Modern Day High Tech Agatha Christie type mystery, works on a lot of levels. One big drawback was the casting of Harris Dickinson as the lead male. He's a duche, who we are supposed to believe is a world-class hacker, a cold-case internet sleuth, a world-class guerilla artist and an guidance counselor to the Worlds foremost Environmental scientist (who he gets sober) all by the age of 27?!? Right...this does not track and all I can see this Harris Dickinson doing is broin' out with his boys at Pi Faga Delta...a horrible misstep by casting, but its forgivable enough. A really good mystery and worth the time

The Holdovers

One of the finest films of the year. Set in the 1970's at a New England boarding school, Giamatti stays behind at Christmas time to watch the students who don't go home and forms a special bond with one of them This is a wonderfully moody piece that at times reminded me of Robert Altman. It felt like it was actually made in the 1970's and that is remarkable. The entire picture is beautifully acted and realized with a knockout soundtrack. Nearly Flawless...A MUST SEE

The Artful Dodger

I'm a big fan of Oliver Twist, so this was a natural for me and it does not disappoint. It Takes place after the events in OT and has the artful dodger as a surgeon in the penal colony of Australia. Great fun and fantastically acted, a little gross because of all the surgery, but well worth a binge and a terrific show.

Fisk

High End contracts lawyer is forced to take a job at a underpar suburban firm. Fast paced Australian comedy is well worth the little time it takes to view. Legit funny, but in a very British way. 2 seasons with 6 episodes each at 22 min/per episode means it costs very little for a laugh. Don't hesitate to give this hilarious show a try.

Leave the World Behind

Even a great cast cant save this garbage. Hard Pass.

Killers of the Flower Moon

Based on a true story and set in 10920's Oklahoma, Osage Indians are being murdered and the FBI is sent in to investigate. Maybe its my love for Martin Scorsese, but even at 3hours and 46 minutes I didn't get bored once. (but I took a break at 2 hours) It's everything you'd expect from a team that Marty put together...Masterful. It should win a few Oscars, but will be nominated for many. Don't miss this, but be prepared to maybe take a break at about the half way point. This is a commitment but you won't regret it. Remember Scorsese is still in the conversation for the greatest director to ever live, so you run to see what he puts on the screen, every time. He's earned that much. HIGHLY recommended.
