Reservation Dogs

This is one of those shows that is so good you never want it to end. Created by Taika Waititi and starring just about every major Native actor you have ever seen including Grahame Green and Lily Gladstone the show handles both its comedy and drama aspects equally well. It's about a group of teens growing up on the rez in Ok and how one persons suicide shapes their lives. It is a shame that this show was cancelled and if you have not seen this yet, you're missing out on one heck of a show. Certainly, this has to be in the conversation when you're talking about the best shows of the 2020's

Wicked Little Letters

Extremely funny in a way only the Brits can do it. Oliva Coleman continues to excel every time she takes the screen (the Bear, the Queen, Etc...ad nauseum) Well Worth a Viewing.

 Sugar

I love this show! Easily the most interesting show of the year. There is a lot of different influences at work here, but at its heart it's a detective story set in Hollywood, like so many others. But that's where the similarities end. I don't want to give away too much, but if you can see this show (Apple+TV) do so Immediately. The whole cast is excellent and the script is one of the years best.

 Young Woman and the Sea

Story of Trudy Edderly who in 1926 became the first women to swim the English Channel. Set in a time where women rights were an afterthought...Great Stuff from Disney Studios and the perfect companion piece to Nyad.

Presumed Innocent

Just one final reveal episode left and I am sure I am not the only one who cant wait to find out whodunit...Another complete home run for AppleTV. Jake Gyllennhaal plays a DA accused of killing a fellow DA in a nicely paced mystery thriller. The family stuff gets a bit slow and melodramatic at times, but the overall story is extremely compelling. Peter Sarsgaard and Bill Camp are great as always. I don't think anybody plays a better "guy you gotta' hate" then Sarsgaard.

Land of the Bad

Really solid action film about a special ops mission gone awry. I knew I would love it when the opening music was Charley Crocket and there is also a Cleveland connection and a shout out to Mama Santo's to be had. Russell Crowe and the minor Hemsworth brothers star and all are solid. A lot of cool pyrotechnics and high level military lingo, lend to its authenticity. Thoroughly Enjoyable, plot holes be damned.

 Hit Monkey

The last decade or so Marvel Studios has been in a downslide as all the super hero films are getting kinda' played out, but what has never flagged is the Marvel Animation Studio and hit Monkey only adds to the legitimacy of this claim. Jason Sudeikis plays the ghost of a hit man that helps a monkey go on a revenge filled killing spree, not for kids. Solid and Funny if you like Jason Sudeikis' humor and a definite must for animation fans.

 Sausage Party: Foodtopia

Follow up to Sausage Party is hysterical and twisted. I've only seen three episodes but I laughed at every one. After a war with Humans, Food has won, but their paradise has other issues...This isn't for children by any means. Fans of Family Guy and adult animated humor are going to get a kick out of this. If you saw Sausage Party you know what you're getting.

The Looming Tower

From 2018 so I must've missed this upon its initial release. However, it's based on the Pulitzer Prize winning book of the same name, this is a first-rate series. Follows the events that preceded 9/11 and focuses on our intelligence agencies. The series is anchored by Jeff Daniels, one of the finest Actors in America who won a well-deserved Emmy for his role and this also grabbed 3 others and were all well deserved. If you haven't seen this yet, correct it.

Ferarri

Directed by Michael Mann and starring Adam Driver and Penelope Cruz, Sounds great right?...An Absolute Snooze-Fest. Long-winded Direction and not very compelling subject matter make what could have been great into an extremely average film, that will make you wonder just why you're wasting your time. Remarkably, Cruz, at 50, is still one of the most beautiful women in the world. Forget this picture and watch Ford vs. Ferrari instead, also directed by Mann

A Family Affair

Just could not make it past about 30 minutes...Kidman at age 57 is finally starting to show her age and bo-tox injections. Still, not much to do with a shit script like this....Don't Bother, Hard Pass

Clipped

Outstanding sports dramatization of the downfall of Donald Sterling. The writing and acting here are on-point. Ed O'Neill's portrayal of Sterling is extraordinary and makes this ell worth the time. I really loved this show. 6.4 is far too low a rating. And for fans of sports drama it's a must see..

The Bear

I have already giving this a glowing review, but just had to say how extraordinary season 3 is. The story doesn't move forward all that much, but it gets a whole lot deeper. S3 has some of the most moving scenes you will ever see, and if it wasn't before, it most certainly is now, the best show on Television
