Territory
Neo-Western set in Australia has all the same trappings as Yellowstone, just not nearly as good. Still worth watching, but inferior to YS in almost every way.

Hysteria
Tremendous little gem, perfect for Halloween. Michigan, 1989, a murder, fundamental Christianity, a high school heavy metal band, satanic cults, high school clicks and deprogrammers are just some of the elements juggled in this story to great effect. Gen Xer's who grew up around then will remember there was a time when heavy metal and satanic cults were linked which just adds to the authenticity of the script which, minus a couple minor mistakes, is great. You will not be disappointed one bit and it will remind you of many things, but is entirely its own thing, an accomplishment in and of itself. Watch this one on Peacock
The Comeback: 2004 Boston Red Sox
An amazing piece right here and a MUST watch for any baseball fan. Chronicles the great great 2004 Red Sox team that broke the curse of Bambino and became the first team to comeback from a 3-0 deficit. When you see how this whole thing unfolded and given the history of the two clubs, this documentary really hits home. Another bonus for Clevelanders, we get a lot of interviews with Tito Martinez who managed the Sox
Woman of the Year
Based on a true story. Anna Kendrik shines as a struggling actress who makes an appearance on the dating game with a serial killer as a contestant. There are a lot of good parts to this film, but they never really come together, Still worth watching just for Kendrik, who gets more beautiful every day, but just misses the mark.
Silo
My stomp through the Apple+ library continues. This is an interesting little mind-bender which seems to go along with what I now feel has become a motif of apple, Edgy. About 10k people have occupied a silo for 140 years with almost no knowledge of human history because our world has become toxic. Or has it? Other than Tim Robbins this a relatively unknown cast and the end of S1 will be a head scratcher but the story is only beginning. S2 premieres Nov. 14th. It's worth watching, but Apple has far better series to see. And a lot of how good this show is hinges on the answers, because the end of s1 made little sense.
Dark Matter
I'm trying to get through the entire AppleTV library, since everything I've seen has been so good. Here is the exception, if you like the Multiverse, this is going to work for you. Personally, I don't enjoy too many time travel films and I sure as shit hate the multiverse. WHY? I analyze, and time travel and the multiverse do not stand up to analytics. Great cast and production values, but this was hard to finish for me...Tons of people love this show so take it for what it is....
For All Mankind
Incredibly entertaining slice of alternate history that presumes the Soviets won the race to moon and the ripple effect that has throughout the US space program. The show runs from 1969 until 2003 (after s4) and the world is a very different place, but not really. Wrenn Schmidt and Joel Kinnaman anchor a great cast that has great characters that really grow up in front of your eyes. Visionary and imaginative with a great soundtrack, script and There isn’t much wrong with this show, it’s Magnificant in almost every way. So it has to be in the argument for best show on TV. This solidifies my opinion that with the exception of HBO, Apple+ is the best prodcution company in the world. This is a must see if there every was one. Heaven for Boomers and GenX.
Nobody Wants This
Brody, A young Rabbi falls for Bell, an unlucky-at-love podcaster in this highly entertaining and well written rom-com. The Jewish guy and a gentile girl is the theme that provide the fireworks, The two leads are excellent and Timothy Simmons and Justine Lupe from Succession are strong in supporting roles. Nothing super new or fresh, just well done and fun. Well worth the time. Great Stuff...
Rez Ball
Astoundingly Horrible...produced by Lebron James and if you can make it more than a half hour you should be giving free Lakers season tickets....I made it 25:27 and that was giving it the benefit of the doubt...everything about this is terrible. Even the fact that the kids are Native American means nothing, since they talk and behave like inner city blacks kids....A complete waste of time
The Perfect Couple
Nicole Kidman plays an Agatha Christie type author and Liev Schreiber her wealthy husband in this limited series. It's a fairly typical whodunit with a stellar cast and an average script. This, indeed, plays out like an Agatha Christie novel and for those of you who are familiar, one of the stars is always the setting. This one uses Nantucket/Martha's Vineyard as the backdrop, so everything looks great, including Kidman who looked awful in her last picture with Zac Efron. Mildly Entertaining, but nothing to write home about. Its only 6 episodes, so if you're bored, this won't cost much.
Twilight of the Gods
Dark, Brutal and Kick-Ass. Created by Zack Synder (300, Man of Steel, Watchmen, Etc..) this is a story set in the world of Norse Mythology, so a bit of knowledge there will help you. Fortunately, thanks to the Avengers and Thor movies most people do, so buckle up. Story of a group of heroes that assemble an Army to fight the Gods of Asgar. Unless, you have some prejudice against animation this is a must see if the subject matter is to your liking. This is worth it just to see how the creators portray Thor. This is not the Thor you are used to.
